Introduction
At Josh Talks, we recently decided to go on a mission to help fresh UPSC aspirants make informed decisions by providing firsthand reviews of UPSC coaching institutes in Delhi and across India. To achieve this, we have explored the top institutes in this field. Our exploration included watching YouTube lectures, visiting coaching institutes, taking telephonic counselling, reading student reviews, and talking to aspirants. During this process, we discovered the videos of Dr. Tanu Jain, a well-known figure in civil services who left her position to guide aspirants. She frequently participates in mock interview panels and has shared her story on Josh Talks. In April 2023, Dr. Tanu Jain, along with other civil servants, founded the Tathastu Institute of Civil Services (Tathastu ICS). We decided to review this institute.
So I, Sanskriti Sharma, an associate at Josh Talks with extensive experience in UPSC coaching-related work, took on the role of a fresh aspirant and visited the institute for an in-depth review.

Approaching Tathastu ICS
I called Tathastu IAS using the landline number provided on their website. Jeetendra Kumar from Tathastu ICS answered and took my details. He informed me that the next batch of the One-Year GS Course would start on June 19th. He was polite and even sent me the batch details via WhatsApp. Before ending the call, Jeetendra mentioned that I could reach out to him directly for any doubts instead of using the landline number. He also mentioned that students need to call a day in advance to schedule a demo lecture. He scheduled a demo class for me from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the next day.
Reaching Tathastu ICS
Tathastu ICS is located on Bada Bazar Road in Old Rajinder Nagar, an area known for housing almost all the big names in the UPSC coaching industry. To get there, you can take the Blue Line metro and get off at Karol Bagh metro station. Exit from Gate Number 7. From there, you can take an e-rickshaw for Rs 10 or walk 600 meters, which takes about 5 to 6 minutes.
Head towards Bada Bazar Road, and after passing the Croma store and PW-Clear IAS building, turn left at the intersection where you'll see Vajiram and Ravi. Continue walking for another 400 metres, and you'll find the head office of Tathastu IAS. The office is opposite Sunya IAS and next to the famous Grover Mithaivala. Shree Sai Bookstore is also located next to the office.

Admission Counselling at Tathastu ICS
I was already in touch with the institute as I had booked my demo class a day before. Nupur Ma’am guided me from the metro station to the head office of Tathastu ICS, making it much easier to reach from the Metro station and office. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by Ms. Nupur, who offered me water and took the time to thoroughly explain the details of the one-year offline course. She provided me with the faculty list and patiently addressed all my doubts. I had concerns about whether the classes are recorded and if we can watch them multiple times, and she was extremely patient, ensuring all my questions were answered comprehensively. I requested to see the classroom building, which is a bit away from the head office, and they graciously assisted me in reaching it. Their next course is starting on the 19th of June, 2024, in both offline and online modes.
