Despite his inclination towards the humanities, he opted for an engineering degree due to familial circumstances and the prevailing necessity for a stable career path.

Upon completing his undergraduate studies in 2021, Animesh found employment with the Indian Oil Corporation. However, destiny took an unexpected turn when his mother was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in December 2021. Despite the emotional devastation, Animesh remained unwavering in his resolve to prepare for the UPSC examination, drawing inspiration from his mother’s steadfast support.

Mother’s Courage and Unwavering Support

Animesh’s mother played a pivotal role in his journey. Despite her arduous battle with cancer, she exhibited remarkable resilience and encouraged him to chase his aspirations. Her unwavering spirit became his primary source of motivation, driving him to dedicate every spare moment to his studies.

Animesh embraced a self-directed approach to his preparation, utilizing online resources and seeking mentorship from various coaching institutes. He prioritized improving his writing proficiency through consistent practice. His meticulous preparation schedule accommodated both his professional responsibilities and his role as a caregiver for his mother.

In March 2024, Animesh was confronted with the loss of his mother. While her passing devastated him, it also instilled a profound sense of duty. Determined to honor her legacy, he intensified his efforts, finding solace in the pursuit of his studies.

On April 16, 2024, Animesh’s dream reached fruition. He achieved the extraordinary feat of securing All India Rank 2 in the UPSC Civil Services Exam. Overwhelmed by both joy and sorrow, he recalled his mother’s unwavering support. Her absence left an unfillable void, but he knew she would have been immensely proud of his success.
